Some night food vendors in Sunyani have begin pounding fufu on the recently constructed pedestrian walkway to destroy it.

The pavement was part of the more than Ghc8 million secondary cities project including modern streetlights Sunyani is enjoying and can boast of.

But, Lawlessness in Sunyani is turning the intention of the project upside down in the name of right to operate a business.

During a City monitoring tour in the Central Business Areas (CBA) of Sunyani, there is an on-going fufu pounding on the pavement at 7:16 pm of Sunday night.

It was right in front of Modern Information and business center directly opposite Anokye drug store near the Total fuel station.

A concern resident of Sunyani, on conditions of anonymity told this writer that “such night fufu pounding on that side of the pavement is a routine business”.

He called on Mr. John Ansu Kumi, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, the Sunyani Municipal Coordinating Director, Assembly members and other City authorities and duty bearers to act swiftly to halt this lawlessness in Sunyani.

“This people must face prosecution to deter perpetrators of other activities causing destruction to state properties”, he stated.
