The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of G2 Foundation, Ms Gifty Nyarko has stated there is critical need for Ghana to prioritize a practical-base learning both in and out of school. 


She explained educational policies and practices should be directed toward outcomes that enhance socioeconomic livelihoods of the citizens. 


Ms Nyarko told the media in an interview at Odumase in view of the fifth International Day of Education commemorated on 24th January 2023, under the theme: “To Invest In People, Prioritize Education”. 


This is to accelerate the progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) “against the backdrop of a global recession, growing inequalities and the climate crisis”.
According to Ms Nyarko, the theme is emphasizing the critical need for nations to harness educational systems such as technical and vocational that nurture students including the girl-child from their infant to become manufacturers.


Mr. Tetteh Offei, a retired educationist in further development added Ghana ought to take pro-developmental education system.
He explained that inculcating the interest in study of Mathematics and Sciences into children from earlier stage of their academic journey would position Ghana and Africa at accelerated development level within few years.

Madam Grace Twum also suggested that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, including agriculture studies should start and be prioritized from creche to the Senior High School level.
