The Electoral Commission (EC)’s Nationwide limited voter registration exercise scheduled to start Monday, June 17, 2019, and expected to end on Sunday, July 7 this year, for all things being equal, is successfully underway.
The exercise quick started at 7:00am and would close at 6:00 pm each day for 21 days.
This is to capture fresh voters and those who had now attained the age of 18 years into the national voter register.
As I visited the Sunyani West District registration center on Monday, new entrants were in queue to get their names captured.
At the Sunyani Municipal EC office, it was observed that the biometric machine couldn’t helped the progress of the exercise as a result of poor network, a registration officer told journalists.
It was recorded that as at about early 2 :00 PM, only two people were successful registered by the biometric machine and 75 registered by the manual back up process.
