The Passion Airline company says it has finalized modalities with management of the Sunyani airport and ready, only waiting for the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the standard regulator to give them the ‘green-light’ to commence business operations in Sunyani.
The company`s sales and marketing manager, Mr. Samuel Razak Tachie announced in an interview with a Sunyani based Suncity Radio on Friday Morning Show hosted by Papa Abisa and monitored by this writer.
He said after the GCAA had finish with their standardize checks, they would give the company the go-ahead and passion air would then begin marketing and promotion campaigns in the beneficiary regions and subsequently launch its operation date at the Sunyani airport to start business for the first time in the Bono Region.

According to Mr. Tachie, the company would operate a system he called
“Passion Air connecting Ghana once at a time”, explaining that they were going to fly people from Sunyani to Accra within a period of one hour and connect passengers going to Ho, Tamale Takoradi and other corridors of the country to another flight within a short possible time.
This would help open up the regions and promote Eco tourism and culture for economic development to thrive, therefore urged people of the beneficiary regions to patronize the services of passion airlines for “quality and convenient services”.
He said passengers require only their tickets and national photo such as the Ghana card, voter ID, Passport or Driving license for identification for identification purposes to board the flight.

Passengers can patronize tickets via online mobile app, travel agencies in Sunyani and the company’s office at a very affordable price.
Mr. Tachie stated their arrangement so far was to operate Sunyani to Accra, but would consider Sunyani to other corridors of the country based on demand and patronage, which he added would determine the number of times they have to fly per week.

The phase one of the rehabilitation works at the Sunyani airport was on Wednesday, August 03,2022 commissioned by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Stakeholders in the transport and Aviation Sector, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Bono Region accompanied the President to commission the facility for domestic commercial flights and the occasion was witnessed by Chiefs, Assembly Members, Youth Associations, Institutional Directors, Security Agencies and other opinion leaders.

The Ghana Airport Company Limited shut down the Sunyani airport in 2015 as precautionary measures to forestall any disaster.
In 2019, rehabilitation work for expansion of the airport began with an amount of GHC52.25 million pumped into the project and the phase one has been completed with a total runway length of about 1,400 meters.
