Suncity Medical Outreach: total 51 surgeries performed

A total of 51 surgeries have been successfully performed at the end of the three days Suncity Medical Outreach exercise at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital.
It was a free surgery exercise organized by the Suncity group of companies in Sunyani and held from 26th to 28th October.
The free medical care exercise was a birthday gift from Mr. Ransford Antwi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Suncity Radio in Sunyani to help save the lives of people who can’t afford the bills of their underlined health conditions that requires surgery.
About 150 patients with different ailments from the Ashanti, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions were taken care of including the 51 surgeries.
According to data gathered after the exercise, the beneficiaries of the surgery comprises 29 males and 22 females with a 7-year old boy being the youngest and the eldest 84 years.
The surguries were performed on Hydrocele, Hernia, Fibroid and Hysterectomy and all the patients were safely discharged.
In all, 23 surguries were performed on hernia, 21 performed on fibroid, 3 performed on hydrocele and 4 performed on hysterectomy.
About 60 specialists from Ho, Tamale and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospitals, Sunyani Regional and Municipal Hospitals, Berekum Holy Family Hospital and others Hospitals in the Bono region came together to perform the surguries.
They included Dr. Appiah Kubi from Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr. Robert Arko at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, Dr. Anto, Dr. J.B Fordjour and many others.
