SYDA intensified radio campaigns to beef up peace

The Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) has intensified radio session campaigns as part of efforts to reach the masses in it’s quest to strengthen peace and stability before, during and after the December 7 general elections.


The radio campaigns started with some FM stations over the weekend including BA TV and hoped to reach all in the Sunyani Municipality and beyond.

It was to widened it’s catchment area in the peace campaign organized by the association to preach the essence of protecting and maintaining the nation’s cohesion.

The campaign was in collaboration with the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions Directorate of the National Youth Authority, Sun city radio and Cheers FM in Sunyani, the Initiative Black and White Ghana & Germany and Sunyani for development.

It began with a walk through the principal streets of Sunyani on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

It was the association’s  contribution to ensuring Ghana’s peace and security is beefed up before, during and after the December 7 general elections.

The association’s general secretary, Mr. Akomea Sakyi, in an interview noted the essential commodity a person or country could not afford is peace and stability.
“Freedom is the very essence of our Democracy, hence, it is necessary citizens of Ghana propagate the peaceful coexistence of the country at all cost for holistic development to thrive”, he stated.

Mr. Sakyi pleaded with the political party leaders to make peace the major priority in all endeavors and ensure Ghana had free, fair, credible and transparent elections.

Saying, “Ghana is on the global monitoring screen, and it is Ghana that wins after December 7”.

“Our county Ghana is a peaceful country, let’s protect that integrity”, he added.
