The ongoing Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) in conjunction With National Youth Authority (NYA)’s two weeks skills training in the Sunyani Municipality has yield good results.

The event, that commenced from Monday, June 10, and expected to end June 21, 2019, was sponsored by MTN Ghana Limited.

More than 30 participants at the workshop were giving training in ICT online marketing, bead making and decoration, bangles, wig cap making and fixing, makeups, pedicure and manicure.

This is to empower participants to be self independent and capable of creating jobs for themselves to reduce the unemployment phenomenon in the country.
Speaking to some trainees, Mariam Abubaka, a makeup artist said she deemed it a great privilege to be part of the program.
She expressed optimism that the knowledge acquired can never be taken from her.
“I have now know how to fish, and I don’t think with this experience some body can fish for me to my satisfaction, she added.
In that same manner, a bead makers also said “it was an opportunity for me to be able to start something my self, and am going to teach my younger sisters”.
She suggested the program should be extended to other places for many people to benefit.
