Trainees of the Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) have been economically empowered and prepared ready for entrepreneurship.
The intensive economic empowerment and financial literacy training on Thursday, at the SYDA skills training center in Sunyani acquainted the participants with great desire, confidence and initiatives to become entrepreneurs.

It was organized by the GIZ in collaboration with the Global Media Foundation to develop the entrepreneural skills of young people learning craftsmanship and artistry.
The project is to identify young people going into entrepreneurship, mentor, guide and strategically position them to generate innovative business ideas to create jobs and employment opportunities, said the facilitator, Mr. Simon Nketia of NESO Management Services, an organizational management firm in Sunyani.
He stated the GIZ is making available funding for the young innovative entrepreneurs in 2023, hence the training to equip them well so that when given the funding for their businesses, they can put it into proper use for the benefits of not only them, but the nation.
The participants were taken through many areas of financial literacy including how to one can commercialize and market his/her talents and how to customize products.

Developing entrepreneural skills for job readiness after school or after learning skills, building of network while learning and sources of start up capital were other areas of the one day training.
